About the Temecula Valley Council

The Knights of Columbus Temecula Valley Council was formed in December of 1988 when St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish was still located in Old Town Temecula, at the current location of Temecula Stage Stop Bus Station. Many of the council brothers participated in the move of St. Catherine Church to its present location.

The council formation was prior to the establishment of St. Martha Parish in Murrieta; so many of our original brothers resided in Murrieta and our first meeting place was the club house at Murrieta Hot Springs. Later, the council met at the former Rancho Water District building along Diaz Road until the completion of DiLeo Hall in 1991 when the council started meeting in the library room at St. Catherine Parish.

Council 9964 is one of over 12,000 councils of the Knights of Columbus Order throughout the world with total assets of over $9.2 billion. We help contribute to the more than 1.7 million brothers of the Order, over 60 million man hours of volunteer service, and charitable contributions of more than $125 million.

About the Knights of Columbus Order

The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic men's fraternal benefit society that was formed to render financial aid to members and their families. Mutual aid and assistance are offered to sick, disabled and needy members and their families. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works.

The history of the Order shows how the foresight of Father Michael J. McGivney, whose cause for sainthood is being investigated by the Vatican, brought about what has become the world's foremost Catholic fraternal benefit society. The Order has helped families obtain economic security and stability through its life insurance, annuity and long-term care programs, and has contributed time and energy worldwide to service in communities.
