Color Corps

When knighthood was in flower, knights carried the sword to defend their God, their Church, their country and their fellow man according to the code of chivalry. Today, Sir Knights wear regalia and carry the sword to honor Christ and His apostles, especially on religious and civic occasions. Hence, the primary purpose of the Fourth Degree is to encourage active Catholic citizenship and foster the spirit of patriotism in members and the community at large.

Any Third Degree Brother Knight in good standing who has been a member for at least six months may take their Fourth Degree and join the Color Corps ranks.

COLOR CORPS CALL OUTS: The following is a schedule of call outs in the area. Please note that these are sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree, not the Temecula Valley Council. Dates are subject to change. Worthy Sir Knights: District Call Out Father Nabil former San Diego Diocese Chapter Chaplain has requested the knights presence at the two Masses on Saturday Jan. 14th at 5:30 pm and on Sunday Jan. 15th at 11:00 am. Knights need to be there half an hour early. The Maronite Bishop will be celebrating the two Masses. The location is St Ephrem Church 750 Medford Street El Cajon Ca. 92020 Exemplification of the Fourth Degree: Color Corps members will be needed for various parts for the Exemplification of the Fourth Degree on 2/11/2012 at the Double Tree Hotel (222 N. Vineyard Ave, Ontario CA 91764) including the morning Color Corps Competition. Call outs require permission from the pastor (or authorized parish staff member). The Color Corps is called out for any public religious function involving the Bishops of the Diocese of San Bernardino (excludes private celebrations) within Padre Pio Assembly. For Funeral Mass Call Outs, a full Call-Out is conducted only for deceased Sir Knights under the request of family members; a 3-member Call-Out is conducted for any deceased clergy and 3rd Degree Brother in good standing, under the request of family members.
