K. of C. > Service Projects & Activities > D.G.K. Message Council 9964 Temecula Valley My Brother Knights:First I would like to thank all of you for putting you faith in me as deputy Grand Knight. I will try my best not to disappoint. In talking with Worthy Grand Knight Mark Perry we decided that one of our missions this year is to increase participation in Council and Church activities. We all know that we are members of the K of C, but do you really belong to the K of C? What do I mean by that? I mean that to really belong, you must participate. To participate, you must do more than just pay your annual dues, You should be at-tending meetings, and helping with K of C functions, such as the MR drive, and the wine tasting. None of these events require you to spend a great deal of time away from your families. At the most your are looking at a two to three hour com-mitment once a month. Now a little about myself, I joined the K of C shortly after suffering a family tragedy. When I attended my first meeting, I found that I had many brothers that cared, they helped to comfort me, and show me that life goes on. I know now that anytime there is a brother in need these men are here to lend their support any way that they can. Had I not joined and had I not attended that first meeting I never would have had the chance to meet this great group of men. So start small attend the next dinner meeting. If for some reason you can’t make dinner then at least try to make the meeting itself at 7:30. Come to the meeting and meet other men with the same values and concerns as you. Attend and see if there may be a committee or function that you would like to help out with. Come and participate for to Participate is to Belong. Vivat Jesus! SK Rich Ritchie, DGK
